The School of Education is a large configuration comprised of 7 departments and more than 40 programs within the departments. The professional preparation programs that offer credentials in K–12 areas of specialization are accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
The Department of Doctoral Studies in Education offers doctorates in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.).

Accreditation and Membership
APU’s School of Education values the importance of developing programs of distinction and academic integrity. This attention to excellence has earned the school notable accreditations and been guided by the school’s Conceptual Framework. The university is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and SOE is also accredited by California’s Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Additionally, APU’s Master of Arts in Education: Educational Psychology Program is conditionally approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
Meeting these accreditations enable APU to prepare teachers for new, more rigorous state licensing, and sets graduates apart from other candidates on a global scale.
